INITIAL CONSULTATION (up to 45 minutes):   $75

WILLS and TRUSTS (Estate Planning)  are often billed at a flat fee, as agreed between the attorney and the client after the initial consultation.

PROBATE, FAMILY LAW, and GUARDIANSHIP/CONSERVATOR  matters are billed at the attorney’s hourly rate for full legal representation or “unbundled” legal services:

  • Full legal representation:  Your attorney communicates with the court and opposing counsel on your behalf;  drafts and files all court documents;  appears in court;  is responsible for meeting all deadlines;  and is generally responsible for management of the case.  This is often the best type of representation in complex or high conflict cases, or where the client does not want the stress or responsibility of case management or contact with opposing counsel.

  • SAVE MONEY with “Unbundled Services”:  Your attorney acts as your advisor and consultant, but does not communicate with the court or opposing counsel on your behalf;  your attorney may draft pleadings on your behalf on a case by case basis, but you are responsible for filing all pleadings and meeting all deadlines.  The client is solely responsible for case management.  Legal fees are usually significantly less than with full representation.  This is often a good approach for people who expect to reach mediated or negotiated settlements.
